For our new project, we have recruited 15 disabled volunteers by placing ads in disability magazines, on websites and by contacting disability charities. Several people applied and all had the physical capacities, interest and commitment needed to be trained for this work. As we firmly believe in our work to be about ?inclusiveness?, we have added 4 other young people to the training, who belong to Centrepoint/YMCA (homeless project).

- All volunteers are trained to do aerial work hanging from safety rotating acrobatic belts, which will allow them to tumble forwards &, backwards, as well as to learn to climb on silks and do a variety of aerial tricks and bungee jumps. 5 of the volunteers will be chosen to perform as aerialists on our shows.

- All volunteers are trained in stilt walking and poi juggling, ball juggling, acrobatics (when possible), hula hoop manipulation and Chinese ribbons; again 5 of the volunteers will be added to our new creation.

Our team of collaborators is made of experienced and certified riggers who have full control over the equipment.

We comply with all insurance and Health & Safety requirements. We run Cirque Nova with a firm Equal Opportunities Policy to which we adhere when recruiting staff and volunteers.
